@@GregoryLeow There is one stall if they have fatty char siew on that day they will automatically initiate to tell you. So you don't even need to ask or establish relationship. It is at the coffeeshop right outside Pei Tong primary school side gate. I recommend you try it. The Google reviews are very good too. Their roast pork is very crispy also.
@@GregoryLeow it is an underrated/hidden gem. Has been around for 4 to 5 years already still not many people know.
The only oral health benefits of eating firm food instead of soft food is better oral facial muscle and jaw development, but only when you are a kid growing up, too late for adults. As for cavities, makes no difference.
Sugar and carbs are the main cause of cavities, my dentist friends tell me
One of my favorite. The char siew is a lot more enjoyable than their Duck which I feel has too strong a herbal taste. I would prefer the char siew to be less fatty if I am allowed to but this being pork belly, it has to be what it is.....
My kids prefer the standard pork shoulder char siu these days 👌

That’s what they use in KL btw. Nothing new. We even have it in Perth
Pork belly char Siu is now popular throughout Asia. Wasn’t the case a decade or two ago
Dude is this 88? This one is amazeballs. I actually get allergic reactions to pork. Down an antihistamine and enjoy still.
Yeah there are several anecdotes floating around showing that some people don’t do well with pork. That they do better on strictly ruminant meats (beef, lamb, bison)

Interesting. I have noticed, living in Asia, that there is a general dislike of tough chewy, food. Back in my home Ireland we love hard chewy toffee, crusty bread and sometimes tougher cuts of meat. I'd assume this was just a difference in Asian vs European cuisine. I hadn't considered that the preference here for easy to chew food might be something that has been evolving over time in Singapore.
If like that we should all sleep on firm mattress, walk on firm sole, sit on firm chair...
And all these are proven to be good for your body
I've heard Jordan Pedersen mention his gums growing back after he started doing carnivore. Like his dentist told him, my dentist said gums don't grow back. I'm curious to see if my gums grow back, since I have started being ketovore. My teeth do feel stronger. I don't have the sensitivity I used to have. My own theory is there's just less sugar in my mouth for bacteria to feed on. My way out there theory is the body preparing itself to tackle the more challenging chew of meat, sinew, and the occasional piece of bone.

I think with any diet just taking the extra time to count calories goes a long way. You can be eating the the healthiest foods in the world but too many calories is too many calories.

Yes there will be a four month renovation but the hawkers will be moved to a temporary market nearby

The original shop seems closed when it was always closed just before the Food Centre renovation started on 1 June 2024. The helper just opened her own store before Food Centre closed for renovation, at 01-35.
Take some tumeric powder with freshly grind black powder for anti-inflammatory effect. I like that you will feature eating places using natural oil and will definitely try them.

Sorry Greg, this is not a genuine review but a “sponsored” advertisement: 1. The butter is thicker but half the width of Yakun’s - hence, it is not more than Yakun’s! 2. Orange yolks do not equate to better and “speculated” because chickens allowed to run free! All the eggs in Germany and Japan are orange yolked too - not necessarily better! 3. Malaysian kaya with no Pandan is better? You conveniently sidestepped that. Kaya is the quintessential ingredient Kaya toasts is it not? No, this is NOT the best Kaya Toasts in Singapore
